Roser AG, Birsfelden (CH):
Chic veneer surfaces for the Murifeld pharmacy in Bern
Bonn/Birsfelden (CH). The warm season is here: a nasty case of hay fever and the odd cold repeatedly take you to the nearest pharmacy. It's good when it's at least a little cozy there - then the actual reason for the visit doesn't carry as much weight. A nice example of how inviting a pharmacy can look from the inside is the Murifeld pharmacy in Bern, Switzerland. There, the best European walnut veneer from Roser AG in Birsfelden adorns the various areas of the salesroom.
Team Graf AG from Münsingen was responsible for processing the Roser veneer with a thickness of around 0.9 millimeters. Among other things, the company specializes in high-quality object and store construction. "For the conversion of the pharmacy, veneer of the French walnut was requested by the clients. For an initial selection, we digitally sent various woods of Swiss origin to the customer," reports Fabian Sager, who is responsible for veneer projects at Roser AG, among other things, and goes on to explain, "This is extremely fast thanks to our 'Veneer Imager,' which images each veneer bundle, and our large stock." From this, he says Team Graf worked with the clients to select a single log and received a sample sheet for review. "We then joined the log to size according to the customer's specifications and laminated the back with fleece. The joint-glued sheets with a fallen veneer pattern were then pressed onto the backing boards, finished, painted and installed by Team Graf." The result is a retail space that couldn't be more customized. "The patterning of the wood and the warm colors give the space a cozy, natural ambiance. Here, the fillet of the tree can perfectly demonstrate how great images can be created from little material. In addition, wood and its veneer have been proven to have an antibacterial effect. That makes perfect sense for any surface, whether at home or in a public space, and especially in a high-traffic pharmacy," concludes Ursula Geismann, managing director of IFN. IFN/DS
